INPP SCHOOL PROGRAM RESULTS REPORT

EL CALDERI SCHOOL – 2nd grade of primary 2022-2023

Teacher: Sonia Lozano Pozo

Author: INPP Licentiate: Elena García Gómez

Introduction

During the 2022-23 academic year, the INPP School Program (Goddard Blythe 2012*), has been carried out with second-grade primary students, from the El Calderí school, in Caldes de Montbui (province of Barcelona).

Children did the exercises from Monday to Friday, during the school schedule, from the beginning to the end of the course.

Twenty  students participated in the programme (13 girls and 7 boys).

Conclusions

One of the most relevant aspects that I have observed is that the program has served to significantly reduce signs of neuromotor immaturity of the entire class group, from 37.61% to 18.85%. Since the risk score is considered to be >25%, we can consider that it has been successful for all the members of the class. At the beginning of the course there were 17 students with signs of immaturity and at the end of the course there are only 4 (out of a total of 20).

A second aspect to highlight is the great benefit it represents for students who have more serious coordination issues and persistent primitive reflexes. The majority of these students have improved with a significant decrease in markers of immaturity.

The findings affirm one of the features of the program that, "it provides a general movement program to be used with the entire class, but it is aimed primarily at students with signs of neuromotor immaturity".
