On World Book Day, first you need to be able to read......

Not all children are lucky enough to derive enjoyment from books. Many rely on adults to read to them, struggling to decipher the code of symbols on a page that act as a key to stories and a world of imagination to others.

In Reflexes,Movement, Learning and Behaviour, Sally Goddard Blythe explains how physical factors rooted in early child development provide the foundations for reading, writing and learning and school success; how parents can help to support early physical development; how to recognise when problems exist and understand the complex relationship between physical development and learning.
