Symptoms of NDD / Neuro-Developmental Delay
The following symptoms and developmental markers can result from Neuro-Developmental Delay. Please note this does not represent an exhaustive list.
- Difficulty learning to ride a bicycle
- Mixed laterality (preferred foot, hand, ear, eye, etc) above the age of 8 years
- Travel sickness, especially whilst reading in a car, boat or plane (beyond puberty)
- Inability to sit still or remain silent
- Difficulty learning to read and/or write
- Difficulty in moving to adult cursive (joined-up) writing
- Difficulty in physical education classes
- Difficulty in learning to tell the time from a traditional clock face
- Difficulty learning to swim
- Poor eye-hand coordination
- Speech and articulation problems
- Anxiety
- Discrepancy between oral and written performance
