Symptoms of NDD / Neuro-Developmental Delay

The following symptoms and developmental markers can result from Neuro-Developmental Delay. Please note this does not represent an exhaustive list.

  • Difficulty learning to ride a bicycle
  • Mixed laterality (preferred foot, hand, ear, eye, etc) above the age of 8 years
  • Travel sickness, especially whilst reading in a car, boat or plane (beyond puberty)
  • Inability to sit still or remain silent
  • Difficulty learning to read and/or write
  • Difficulty in moving to adult cursive (joined-up) writing
  • Difficulty in physical education classes
  • Difficulty in learning to tell the time from a traditional clock face
  • Difficulty learning to swim
  • Poor eye-hand coordination
  • Speech and articulation problems
  • Anxiety
  • Discrepancy between oral and written performance
